WHY: Manhattan College is an independent Catholic co-educational institution in the Lasallian tradition. The College expects its faculty, administration, and staff to be knowledgeable about our mission, its Lasallian heritage and Catholic identity, and to make a positive contribution to this mission. Thus, the College, through the Office of Mission provide funds and support for faculty and administrators to participate in this Lasallian Personal Formation and Professional Development Program, sponsored by the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU).
WHAT: The IALU Leadership Program, a two-week seminar held annually at the international Lasallian Generalate in Rome, Italy, brings together faculty and administrators at Lasallian colleges and universities to deepen their understanding of and commitment to Lasallian partnership by the study of the Lasallian heritage and charism, Catholic Social Teaching and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and the diversity of the international Lasallian educational network.
WHO: The IALU Leadership Program brings together faculty and senior administrators from among the 64 Lasallian colleges and universities across the globe, colleagues who are interested in
- learning more about the Lasallian heritage and its contemporary manifestations throughout the globe
- meeting colleagues from some of the 64 Lasallian colleges and universities around the globe
- exploring the impact of Catholic Social Teaching within the context of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition in Lasallian higher education
- reflecting on their own personal vocation and role as educators in a Lasallian Catholic higher education.
